Load-in will take place on Thursday, July 23. Please arrive at the time listed next to your name on the following schedule.

All health and fire related permits must be completed prior to arrival.
- If you do not have an Ohio mobile license you will need to purchase a Temporary Food License for the event.
- Deadline to receive Temporary Food License application is Friday July 17th.
- Columbus Public Health will not accept any applications after this date and cannot issue a temporary license on site.
Generators are not permitted. An electric source will be provided within 100 feet of all vendor locations. Vendors are responsible for providing all necessary electrical cables.
Event Management will provide water service; however, each booth must have a FOOD GRADE QUALITY HOSE (usually a white hose with a blue stripe) as regulated by Columbus Public Health. These hoses are available at restaurant supply stores and some local hardware stores. NO GARDEN HOSES WILL BE PERMITTED. Please come prepared for hook-ups with washers, Y connectors, and at least 50’ of hose.
ALL vendors using propane are required to have documentation certifying a PPLT has been performed and passed. This test must be administered by a certified propane technician within the last 12 months. Documentation for the PPLT must be displayed at your vending site throughout the entire Event. This test is to be completed PRIOR to the Event and must be performed by a Licensed Propane Technician or Licensed Plumber (State Certification/License# will need to be provided in paperwork).
We will have a copy of this information onsite to hang in your booth space. The objective is to share with your staff to help keep the proper management all waste during the festival.
Recycling
- Pick up service directly from booth.
- Leave in easily accessible area for collection.
- Breakdown and stack cardboard boxes.

Compost
- Dispose in designated containers behind the booths.
- Alert event staff if you need additional containers.

- Bones
- Wood
- Other plant and animal-based material
Cooking Grease/Oil, Charcoal/Ash, Wastewater
- Dispose in designated containers behind the booths.
- Do NOT overfill containers!
- Alert event staff if there is a spill on the ground or the designated container is full.
Trash
- Vendors are responsible for disposing of their own trash.
- DURING THE FESTIVAL you may use dumpsters in the support parking areas (unless marked as “RECYCLING”).
- AFTER THE FESTIVAL CLOSES each night you may use the large round 300-gallon and 90-gallon rolling trash containers in the street
Columbus Food Rescue
- Vendors are not required, but encouraged to donate their surplus food at the end of the festival.
- Both prepared and uncooked food are welcome – a basic label identifying what the food is appreciated!
- Volunteers with blue “Food Rescue US t-shirts” will be coming around with carts to collect donations at the end of the festival.
- Vendors can also take their food to the refrigerated truck at W. Rich and S. Ludlow streets at the end of the festival.
The Jazz & Rib Fest uses a standardized color code system to communicate the status of weather conditions during events. Each code corresponds to a defined level of weather activity and outlines the actions required from personnel.
- CODE GREEN – Weather All Clear: Conditions are safe. All activities may continue or resume.
- CODE YELLOW – Weather Watch: Hazardous weather is moving toward the site and is expected to arrive within the next 30 minutes. Preparations are made for potential interruption of activities.
- CODE ORANGE – Weather Warning (Weather Delay): Severe weather has been detected and there is an imminent threat to the event. Event stage activities are delayed, and shelter/evacuation preparations begin.
- CODE RED – Weather Warning (Suspending Event): Severe weather has created unsafe conditions at the event. All event activities are suspended, and shelter/evacuation plans are enacted.
- CODE BLACK – Immediate Evacuation: Severe weather has created hazardous conditions that pose a direct threat to safety. All event activities are suspended, and immediate retreat to designated shelter is necessary.
